Renovation Committee Meeting 1/18/10
Attendee’s Gilmer, Ben Jr., Ben Sr., Aubrey, John, Charlie, Pastor Ray, Carroll.
Building Fund $2074.26 currently in the fund after Anne transferred $4000 from the General Fund. Still had $16,000 in the General Fund back in December.
TV or Projector Carroll will get more information and try to have everything ready for the Admin Board Meeting in January.
One more air vent to each side of Sanctuary There is now room for another vent on each side of the Sanctuary, (because of the way the roof has been redone now). Should be no cost to us, because it was figured into the original costs.
Sanctuary Roof Needs to be reshingled. Estimated price is $5800. The roof is not leaking, but is due to be changed and will complete the roofing for the Church. Could we borrow more from General Fund?
Siding on back of church bring up at Admin Board Meeting
- Close off or replace of back windows, restroom windows and door
- Access to attic
-Or add a deck to the back of the church to increase seating during Fellowship time. Could have a roof added over it now or at a later date.
-Or do we go ahead and knock the back wall out and push it back to bring that area inside instead of a deck.
We decided to hold off on this for now. Don’t want to spend money and come back later, or spend money that is needed other places.
Repair of classrooms behind choir (One large with divider or two separate)
-One large room with a divider in the middle to be able to use for multi purpose.

Renovation Update Oak Grove UMC
26 October 2009
At the meeting Ben Roberts went over the 28 Sept update and also the Building Fund Statement and quotes for the roof repair.
The committee voted to use Henry Whites Roofing, and to authorize him to remove the chimney, and do the rafter and plywood and reshingle work on the Fellowship Hall and classrooms. The amount of authorized work is $16,300. We have on hand $12,748. The Admin Council has authorized us to borrow from the church General Fund what is necessary to fix the area's that are leaking. We decided to wait on the shingle replacement over the Sanctuary until necessary funds can be raised.
We also discussed and decided to remove the yellow poles at the driveway of the church. Ben Sr. will borrow a tractor and take care of that. We are pricing various fill materials, rocks, shells, asphalt, to work in the driveway and parking areas.
Also we will look at lighting needs for the far parking and maybe additional lighting for the general parking areas.
Once the shingles are replaced we can begin to fix the cracks in the sheetrock and repaint the interior of the Fellowship Halls and Classrooms.
