Choir Practice Monday Nights, 6:30 PM at Oak Grove UMC (Chapanoke).

Bible Study Monday Nights, 7:00 PM at Oak Grove UMC (Chapanoke).

Bible Study Tuesday Nights, 6:30 PM at Perquimans Youth Detention Center (Winfall).  We are currently studing in the book of John.

Chargewide UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship) meets EVERY Wednesday Afternoon, 5:30 PM at Oak Grove UMC (Chapanoke).  All are welcome to come out and join in for Fun, Fellowship, and Food.

Women’s Bible Study Thursday Nights 7:00 PM at Cedar Grove UMC (Winfall).

Food collection for the needy.  There is a box in the entrance of our church for your donations.  Donations to go to JoAnn’s Thrift Shop (AppleTree Mall, Winfall)  for distribution.  Non Perishable Food, Clothes, Shoes, Video Games, Yard Sale Stuff.  She will take it all.

Support for Haiti, Each church is collecting donations of money or Health Kit items.  A list of what is needed and how it should be packaged can be found in each church or by visiting our HAITI RELIEF page.  We will collect the items from each church on a monthly basis and carry to the District Collection Point.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Sunday, March 14th, 9 AM, YOUTH Sunday at Oak Grove UMC.  The YOUTH will lead all parts of the Worship Service.  Come out and see the future leaders of our church in action.

Tuesday, March 16th, Body Recall, 11 AM at Oak Grove UMC.  Exercise Program for Seniors.  Hope Carines, RN to lead the group.  Lunch to follow.

Saturday, March 20th, Horse Show Concessions at Tildon Whitehurst Stable in Woodville.   The InterCounty Saddle Club Horse Shows are held monthly from March - November.  We really have a great time providing low cost concessions and raising money for our community and our church.  Please SIGN UP for a couple of hours of helping at the show, or baked goods, or both.  Remember all profits are split 50/50 between a local charity/community outreach need and our Building Fund.

Saturday, March 27th, 8:00 AM, Yard Clean Up Day at Oak Grove UMC.  Bring your yard tools and gloves and join us for a morning of yard work.  Rain date is Saturday (March 27th).

Saturday, March 27th, 1:30 PM, LEAPS at the Perquimans Youth Detention Center (Winfall).  This is an established class we conduct on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month with the kids in the Detention Center.  Is based around the need to show these young people how our everyday attitudes and actions affect our lives.

Saturday, March 27^th, Easter Egg Hunt at Oak Grove UMC (Chapanoke), 3 PM to 5 PM.  Come out and enjoy an afternoon with the kids.  As with all of our activities, everyone is invited.  We will be eating supper with the kids.

Saturday, March 27th, 7 PM to 10 PM, Pancake and Link Sausage Supper at Mount Hermon UMC (Okisko).  $6.00 per plate.  See Melba Bridgeman for tickets.

Monday, March 29nd, 7:00 PM, Administrative Board / Planning Meeting at Oak Grove UMC.  All are invited and encouraged to come out and take part in our monthly planning.  This meeting is where the various events are planned and improved upon.  Our Outreach and Events are a big part of our success story these last few years, and our continued growth depends upon YOUR support.

Friday, April 2nd, Good Friday Evening Service, 7 PM at Oak Grove UMC.

Sunday, April 4th, Easter Sunrise Service, 6 AM at Oak Grove UMC, with Fellowship and Breakfast to follow.  "Normal" Worship Service to follow at 9 AM.

Sunday, April 4, 2010, 11:00 AM at Cedar Grove UMC (Winfall), Special Easter Sunday program.

Thursday, April 8th, Perquimans Mobile Food Pantry.  5:00 PM till the food is gone (usually less than 1 1/2 hours).  On Grubb Street in Hertford at the old Harris Shopping Center (just before the railroad tracks).  A group of local church's purchase the food from The Food Bank of the Albemarle and distribute it on the SECOND THURSDAY of each month.  All food is free, the only requirement is to have a valid Perquimans County identification.  We do this the SECOND Thursday of every month.

Saturday, April 10th, Chapanoke Lawn and Garden Tractor Pull Concessions, 2 PM.  This is our first Tractor Pull Concessions of the year.  They are held on the second Saturday of each month, April thru October.  We start setting up at 2 PM, to be ready to start serving by 3 PM.  The pulls start at 4 PM and go until they are complete.  Come out and have a great timed as we serve up low cost food, snacks, and drinks.  One half of all profits goes to local charity or needy and the other half helps with the restoration work in our church.

May 15^th & 16^th, 2010, Motorcycle Ministry Revival at David’s Red Barn in Rocky Hock.  Saturday night, Message and music by Pastor Mike Bass and band from Solid Rock UMC in Fayetteville.  Worship service Sunday morning at the barn.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Welcome to our VISITORS.  We invite you to join us for Fellowship Time (and Breakfast) immediately following the service.  We look forward to getting to know you.

Urgent help needed at Merci, They need volunteers willing to work in receiving, sorting, packing, weighing and shipping materials over several days in Goldsboro, NC .  They also, need usable cardboard packing boxes.

We are looking for Adults to help with the YOUTH (UMYF) in the areas of providing food and an extra person to satisfy the Safe Sanctuary policy.  Please contact Anne Tavenner for any questions or to help at 333-5802.  The more help we have the less time commitment per person.

We are looking at starting a Senior Adult Group to include activities and trips.  Those interested may contact Carlton Boyce or Pastor Ray.

Beginning in the Fall we will start a new Ministry called Alpha.  Team members will be needed to help with food preparation, small group discussion, etc.  Contact Pastor Ray for details.

T-shirts, Hats and other Oak Grove Attire are now available.

Sign up board by the kitchen.  We have mounted a white board by the kitchen.  Please sign up on the board to help with the Fellowship breakfasts.
